Dipped my toes into photography for the first time recently….

With a camera and all. Ha. Scroll to see my some pics from my first 📸 ➡️➡️ down by the river….aaannd I just learned all photos in a carousel have to be arranged with the same layout (wide angle here, will share full vert shots in Stories later)

I marvel at the shots some photographers I follow get. I’ve always wanted to see where photographers and artists go to get that first shot above ⬆️ ….think mine turned out ok. Always learning. But such a cool spot in Minneapolis. 🌉🌊🌆

I still barely know how to turn the camera on, but I’m excited to learn. And learn great places for photography - Please share advice below!

Things that brought me joy the past few months:

👩🏽‍🌾 Farmers Markets
🎥 Everything Everywhere All at Once
🌭 Matching @unclefrankys in my @esther.edna.clothing blouse
🇵🇭New Filipino restaurants
🚲 Biking, specifically at sunrise only happened once to chase @abbyleigh22 around with a camera
🌮 Driving 20 minutes to wait an additional hour for food that hurts my belly
🍹Drinks on the patio
☕️Helping @upnorthcoffeeco grow
🌭 Eating Hot Dogs PERIOD But with @jlan54 and at an outdoor festival gets extra points
🎺 Living my La La Land dreams at @metronomebrewery

There are many things I love about Minneapolis but one thing I've learned this year and something I've come to greatly appreciate is the kindness in the art community.

It is hard when starting off a new business!
There are many things to put into consideration like what to do to make your booth look more appealing, how to price out things correctly, how to network with other artists, which shows to sign up for, how to market yourself, and how to show up to shows and events in the right mindset. But one thing I've been immensely thankful for is how many artists have been willing to connect and support one another.

ALL of the photographers and other artists I've met at each festival have been incredibly kind and charismatic. I feel like everyone I've met and talked with has had the same mindset of building one another up, helping each other grow, and in turn, receiving the same.

And I think that also comes from being an artisan. I truly think that each person at a festival or show, selling their handmade product, is there for a reason.
Maybe they used art as a means for an escape from the hardships of their daily lives, or maybe they find when they are working with something their heart is set on, that they are able to find pleasure in the smallest of things.
Whichever the case, I believe art in itself - creating something with your hands and having the pleasure of sharing it with the world - is a precious gift.

If you're an artist and we've connected over the past two years: Thank you for your kindness, love, and charismatic charm. Whether we've met in person at an art festival, over the internet, or both - you've made not only a difference in my life but in others lives too.
